Key takeaways from the July 26 survey:

 

- There were no new invasive species found, a very good thing

 

- Our existing invasive, najas minor (brittle naiad), is not excessive at this point, and we should not have to treat this year.

- The reed type of plant washing up on beaches and lakefront properties is Tape Grass, aka wild celery (edible!), and is good for lakes.  We should live with it until it impacts recreation..

- At this point, it appears no weed treatment will be necessary for this year, no species were out of control.

 

The survey details will be part of the annual Water Quality Report for 2023.
